This time last year we looked at different ways you can get 4th of July recipes, and with books being a popular option, we pointed our readers in the direction of Google Books that gave an easy way to read recipes online for the perfect 4th of July party. Now we’re in 2011 and many more people have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, we thought highlighting the best apps available on these devices would be a good idea for July 4th. Whether you’re thinking desserts or party food, we’re sure these will be the only apps you’ll need.

A few days ago we featured some apps for Fourth of July recipes, games and quiz that featured something for both iOS and Android. Today we’re going to show you a larger selection of apps for creating the best party food, which are for iOS devices. Those of you celebrating Independence Day 2011 outside will want to throw a party that includes grilling, and Weber’s On the Grill for iPad is one of the best choices. The grill guides will help you cook meat for the right amount of time; this includes times for red meat, seafood, poultry, and pork. Other handy options include the ability to share shopping lists and recipes with friends and family via email, and being able to tag your favorite recipes will help you find them later.

One of the latest iPad apps is “Food Network Magazine Summer 2011”, and this app is packed with helpful features like a grilling quiz, how-to videos, and 136 interactive recipes. The well-known Allrecipes app has two versions, one dedicated for iPad and another for iPhone. This application has thousands of recipes to make sure you will find the perfect dishes for those invited to your July 4th celebration. There are a number of filters you can use when searching, these include finding recipes by cooking method, course, or prep time.

Another massive collection of recipes can be found in “How to Cook Everything”, as the name of this iOS app suggests, it claims you can find out how to cook “everything” using your iPhone, iPod or iPad. The app has an easy-to-access collection of grilling recipes with hundreds of illustrations.

What is a Fourth of July party without drink? Those of you that like a little drink during the celebrations will find the Mixologist app perfect, especially if you want more than just beer. You will find the ultimate drink recipes to help you find some cool ideas for 4th of July 2011. Our favorite feature in this app is the ability to browse by ingredient.

We hope these apps help you organize the best party yet. Have a good one.
