We have recently reported on the much publicized court case between Apple and Samsung, regarding claims by Apple that their rival was copying their designs. What is certain though is the fact that Samsung are bringing out some great looking products. Recently we saw the Samsung Galaxy SII handset, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 become available. Now today we have news of a super charged Samsung Galaxy SII+ rumored to be arriving in time for the iPhone 5 release.
The Galaxy SII has only recently released in Europe and is yet to arrive on US shores, but according to an article on Expert Reviews by Gareth Halfacree an updated version of the handset is already in the pipeline. The current Galaxy SII is no slouch and comes with a 1.2GHz Exynos processor, which was recently overclocked to get 1.5GHz.
But there is talk of a new model being made available in time for the expected release of the iPhone 5 in September but with a 1.4GHz processor powering it. This would make it currently the most powerful Android handset available. Having a processor of that size will improve the handsets handling of gaming, and processing data. But what it will do to the battery life is a separate issue.
The newer version is also rumored to come with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system along side Samsungs own Touch Wiz UI. It is not known if there will be any other changes, but if true will be highly annoying to the people who have already pre-ordered one or have it already. The Current model comes in 16GB and 32GB flavors which is likely to happen with any new model.
The current model is arguably the best Android handset currently available, but are Samsung getting worried about the next iPhone? There are also other reports which suggest the next Galaxy cell phone will be radically different from the current model. The ongoing court case with Apple may have something to do with that one, but it is now what can be expected when you but a new smartphone.
You buy the latest fastest handset available just to see the same or different manufacturer bring out or announce something better. For fans of Apple handsets this isn’t normally quite what happens as they usually wait a year before bringing out a new model. This has changed this year though as the WWDC event came and went in June without any new handset, and we are now hearing rumors that we could see two new iPhone’s later this year.
Are you concerned to hear that Samsung could be bringing out a new Galaxy handset soon?
