Best iPhone and Android apps for free – revisited for 2011

With so many different apps to choose from, out of many free applications available on the iPhone and Android, we thought it would be a good idea to see what the best are for free.

DropBox is a great iPhone app and the easiest way to synchronize and share your files online and across computers. View your photos, documents, videos and any presentation while you are mobile. You can save photos and videos taken with your iPhone’s camera to your Dropbox and share/send the same files.

Words With Friends is an Android app that is based on Scrabble. This game however will allow you to play with friends who own iPhones. EXO-Planet is an iPhone app and a third 3rd-person shooter in zero gravity. With live multiplayer DM and CTF action over 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth this game will also allow you to compete with other iPhone users for great non-gravitational fun.

South Park Mega Millionaire is specifically for the iPhone and is Japan’s most outrageously humiliating game show. Play along to get the chance to win 10,000 Yen. SoundHound is also an iPhone app with fun entertainment value. SoundHound will let you search for music of your choice with unlimited voice and text searches sing a song or hum a tune and SoundHound guesses what song it is.

Netflix is the great movie Android app that will let you stream any Netflix movie to your phone free, as part of your subscription package. Tap Tap Revenge 4 also an Android version of the rhythm game features popular tracks from the likes of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars–all for your finger-tapping pleasure.

Foodspotting is another Android version that helps you with the best local foods around using generated photos and reviews from certain restaurants. Google Translate on Android will allow to speak the words you want translated either spoken or on screen. A great app for those traveling to a foreign speaking country. Photosynth is an iPhone app that will capture the world around you in great 3D panoramas. The Microsoft’s app puts your pictures together and you can share them via Photosynth’s online service or on Facebook with your friends.
