Throughout June we have been looking at some upcoming phones from BlackBerry and Samsung, Motorola, as well as what Sprint and Verizon has to offer. Now we will take a look at 4 new phones from LG, who we believe are starting to fall behind their rivals. Knowing that they are losing ground to their South Korean rivals in not only the TV market but also the cell phone market must be a bitter pill to swallow?
So let us start with the handset that has just been released, so is certainly classed as a new phone. The LG Revolution has now been available on Verizon for a few weeks now. This looks to be the best what LG has to offer this year – well what we know off – but to some still cannot match the specs of the HTC EVO 3D.
It seems to us that LG cannot get a break, as they are struggling to launch a handset that can compete with the likes of Samsung, HTC and Motorola. There is more bad news to come, as the battery does not seem up to the task either. Only time will tell if the LG Revolution was a success or failure.
The LG Thrill 4G or Optimus 3D as it will be known in Europe was meant to be launched by now, but AT&T has delayed its release for some reason. We are not certain if LG have solved the issue with poor battery performance with their 4G handsets, but no doubt we will hear of this once the reviews start to come in.
The Thrill 4G has a 4.3-inch display and has a great 3D option to allow you to shoot your image in 3D, which as we know is all the craze at the moment. If we were to compare the handset with any other, then the HTC Evo 3D 4G is a prefect match. This means that AT&T and Sprint will be battling it out with each other – well it is a dog-eat-dog world out there.
Now it is time for a shift to the mid-range handset with the LG GW910. This was announced some time back now, and we should expect to see the handset released shortly. Surprisingly there is still a market for handsets like this, but nothing like there used to be.
Finally we have the LG A100, and this is a low-end phone that is more for those who likes to keep things simple. Those who would benefit from such a device would be the elderly, we would say children as well, but we all know how they like to show off in front of their friends. We can picture it now, some kid will be holding up their iPhone and shouting out I have an iPhone – like the Ice Cream stand-up routine from Eddie Murphy – to the kid that has the LG A100, and we all know that we will be willing the child to drop their iPhone.
These are 4 upcoming handsets from LG, and as you can see they seem to be in real trouble here.
