When the Nintendo 3DS handheld was first launched back in March this year, it was accompanied by a number of different launch titles including Nintendogs + cats, Ridge Racer 3D, Madden NFL Football and Asphalt 3D. While there are many gamers that are probably satisfied with the games that have been released for the Nintendo 3DS so far, others may be holding out for some of the forthcoming titles.
Mike Rose over at pocketgamer.co.uk has taken a look at some of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS titles, and has kindly comprised a list of the top 10 most eagerly-awaited games. First on the list is Luigi’s Mansion 2, which is probably one of the biggest surprise announcements of E3 2011. The game sees you playing Mario’s brother, as he ventures into several haunted mansions to rid them of ghosts.
Players will be armed with a vacuum cleaner and flashlight combo, but capturing the ghosts isn’t as easy as you think. Each ghost requires a puzzling plan of attack in order to get them into the vacuum cleaner. Animal Crossing 3D is another game that many are looking forward to. Gamers take on the role of a traveler, who finds themselves in a small woodland town with no place to live and without any money.
Next on the list is The Rolling Western, a downloadable game coming to the eShop. This game sees you playing an armadillo creature, whose job is to stop enemies from reaching a series of towns. Another highly-anticipated game coming to the Nintendo 3DS is the Bit.Trip Saga, which will contain all six previously released Bit.Trip titles including Bit.Trip Beat, Core, Runner, Void, Flux and Fate.
Many 3DS owners are also looking forward to the Cave Story 3D remake, which comes with new content, new character designs and even some brand new visuals. As we mentioned in a previous article, the Cave Story 3D game is due to arrive in stores on August 9th. Those who enjoy puzzle-platformer games will no doubt be waiting for the much-anticipated Crush 3D to arrive later this year.
The Crush 3D remake will come with a new character to control, a new hints system to help you through the trickier parts of the game and new locations to explore. You can read what other games made it onto the list via the pocketgamer.co.uk website. What Nintendo 3DS games are you most looking forward to in 2011?
