Watch Deathly Hallows trailer, apps vs. online

By Updated on

With the final part of Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows trailer now having been released you can understand that people are now coming to the realization that the adventures are about to end. However, let us not end this on a sad note, as fans have yet to watch the trailer. With so many ways to see how JK Rowling’s creations ends we look at if apps are better than an online alternative.

For some, having a movie trailer app is so much better than going to a website for so many different reasons. More often than not a mobile website lacks in features when compared to an app. OK, so we know that you can still view the full site on your smartphone, but this will have a huge drain on your battery.

Apps are different in the way that they are made specifically for the phone, and yet still offer just as much as a website does. One such app that does this well is called Movie Trailers and has been designed to work on any iOS device. There are more than 7,000 movie trailers on this app, and all for just $0.99.

What makes this app excel is how it has been optimized to work even when your 3G or Wi-Fi connection is slow – something that cannot be said for an online movie trailer website. There is also AirPlay support, so you can even watch it via your Apple TV.

One of the best movie trailer Android apps has to be Movies by Flixster. Not only do you get to see all the top trailers, such as the new Deathly Hallows one, but also read up on reviews and showtimes. The best about this app is that it is free.

You may think that using apps is the better choice, but not for those who want to watch a HD trailer on a screen larger than 4-10-inches. This is where websites come into their own, and two of the best are Coming Soon and IMDB. They both offer so much more than the latest movie trailers, and give you a service that you could never get from an app.

It is all well and good watching a trailer on your iPhone or Android handset, but how much detail can you take in on that small screen? In some cases these trailers are shown in HD, and only then will you get to see small details that can give something away about that upcoming movie.

How do you prefer to watch movie trailers, with an app or online?
