Here at Product-reviews we strive to bring you informative information regarding upcoming handsets, with future BlackBerry and Android, Verizon and Sprint phones being a fine example of this. So now we thought we would study some of the upcoming Samsung phones for 2011, and we already know that there will be no Galaxy S II replacement. However, we can tell you that the third-generation of this handset will be with us early in 2012.
Whenever the South Korean company launches a flagship model like the Galaxy S 2, you know that they will put their full backing behind it and will not offer another phone like it for quite some time. HTC has a totally different philosophy on this, as they tend to launch many handsets with similar features, but we think that this is the wrong way of doing things, as it confuses the consumer.
We can see how many markets always have a flagship model, such as autos, as you always want to know that you have the best model around – something that does not happen that often in the smartphone market. Anyway, that’s our little rant over, now onto some of the upcoming Samsung handsets for 2011.
So first up we have the Samsung Galaxy S II Mini; this is like rubbing salt in the wounds of those in the US, as they still do not have the full-size model yet. This smaller version is a cheaper copy of the larger model, so will not have the dual-core processor, Instead you will have a single-core 1.4GHz CPU, along with a 3.7-inch display. The U.S. release date is still unknown.
Next up is the Samsung Attain, and from what we know this looks set to be the AT&T version of the S II. Another handset due for launch this year is the Samsung Conquer 4G D600; this model will be powered by the single-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor, but will have Android 2.3.3. In this day and age this is more of a mid-range handset, but is still more than capable of your everyday needs.
Not ones to bang on about the high-range phones we thought we would now look at the mid to lower-end of the scale. First we have the Samsung Hero E3210. This handset is perfect for those who do not care about surfing the net at speed or worried about taking great photos or videos. Where this phone comes into its own is battery life, as it does not have all those top spec features, as well has a high-quality screen to drain battery power. The estimated release date is said to be at the end of June.
Finally we have to mention the Samsung Exhibit and Gravity SMART, both of which will be coming to T-Mobile on June 22nd. The former is a mid-range handset, whereas the latter is an entry level. The Exhibit will run with Android 2.3 and will have a 1GHz processor doing all the work. The Gravity SMART will only have Android 2.2 and will have a less-powerful 800MHz CPU.
Well these are just a handful of what Samsung has to offer in 2011, but for more details on these and other upcoming models visit the official Samsung website.
