US Open Golf 2011: Live updates via Android and iPhone

By Peter Chubb - Jun 16, 2011

Today is the first day of the US Open Golf 2011 and live updates are available via the official iPhone app or on the mobile website, which can be accessed by Android and other smartphones. The event goes on for four days, but is seen as a bit of a pain for fans that have to go to work. Thankfully technology has eased this pain, as you will be able to keep fully up-to-date with all what transpires throughout the day.

The app is available on the iTunes, and you will not have to part with any money, as it is free. Now, we are uncertain why the app states that the sporting event begins on June 13th, when that is a clear mistake. Anyway, on to what features the iOS app has.

For those of you who are unable to watch the 2011 US Open Golf live, then you will be happy to know that you can view live video coverage, along with on demand highlights, scores, photos and all the latest news to come from the event. If you do have enough time then you can read through each player’s bio.

If you do not have an iOS device, then you do not have access to the official US Open app, as there isn’t one for Android or Blackberry. However, this is where that mobile site comes in, which was used during the 2010 tournament. You can check it out here, just make sure that you have a few hours spare, as it is easy to get lost with all the information that is available to you.
