Having offered details on upcoming Verizon and Sprint phones we now draw our attention to upcoming BlackBerry and Android phones in 2011/2012. From what we know some of the best handsets running on Google’s mobile OS have already been released – such as the Samsung Galaxy S II – well for UK customers, those in the U.S. are still waiting.
So lets look at Android first and then work our way to RIM’s BlackBerry handsets. The first on our list is the HTC EVO 3D, which is said to be released on June 24 and will be available to buy on the Sprint network, which we reported just over a week ago. Next up we have the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, which we only currently have a UK release date for. There have been a few delays for this handset, but the latest is that you will not be able to get your hands on the device until sometime in July.
Earlier in the year we informed you that the ZTE Skate would be arriving in the second part of 2011, we can now tell you that it will either be this month or next. There are no details as to what Android phones will be launched, but we do have one or two ideas. Firstly we know that they will offer a quad-core Tegra CPU, with one of them possibly being the Motorola Bullet.
Next up we have BlackBerry handsets, which as we know will not be as extensive as Android. The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is said to be with us very soon and has been known as two other names, the Dakota and the Magnum. Again the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930 is expected any time now and will offer a few enhancements over the above-mentioned handset.
Again it is a little tough knowing what to expect in 2012 from RIM, but they need to have a total rethink, as they are losing ground to not only Android, but also Apple and Samsung. There are suggestions that we will see a new range of BlackBerry handsets dubbed “Super Phones” in 2012. We will have to watch this space to see what more comes of this.
That is as much as we know at the moment; we hope that this has been of help to you?
