Sony announces new VAIO E Series laptops: Specs and price

Is your current laptop or notebook looking a little bit outdated? Do you fancy buying yourself a nice new model? If you answered both those questions with a yes, then you might be pleased to know that Sony has just announced its new VAIO E Series laptops.

As Rue Liu over at slashgear.com recently noted, the Sony VAIO E Series laptops come in three different sizes, as well as a variety of colors. For example, the 14-inch and 15.5-inch models are available in blush pink, glacier white, charcoal black and midnight blue.

Meanwhile, the larger 17.3-inch model is only available in two colors: glacier white or charcoal black. All three models are finger-print resistant and come with geometric patterns on the lid and matching palm rests and a textured, dimpled touchpad.

All three VAIO E Series laptops come with an LED-backlit LCD display and an HDMI output that enables users to connect it to their HDTV, as well as a built-in microphone and webcam – which features face-tracking technology – for video conferencing.

Processor options for the VAIO E Series include a second-generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Intel Hyper-Threading. The 15.5-inch model in charcoal black also has the option of an AMD E-350 Dual-Core CPU with AMD Mobility Radeon HD6130 Graphics Vision technology.

The Sony VAIO E Series laptops will be available for pre-order online as from June 19th, and will then be available to purchase from Sony stores and other major retailers starting next month. The E Series notebooks start from around $550. Would you buy a Sony VAIO E Series laptop?
