Information is made easy as Fujitsu partners with Hospital to help using a clinical guidance system with color e-paper.
Sapporo Shirakaba-dai Hospital and Fujitsu Limited have today launched a clinical appointment guidance system that uses color electronic paper otherwise known as e-paper for patients to use for their individual requirements. Fujitsu’s proprietary wireless communications technologies are accessible with e-paper by electronic cards.
The information contained guides patients to testing rooms or examination rooms using individual medical records. This helps with letting the patient in waiting rooms know when their doctor is ready to examine them, check in times and payment procedures. Information is obtained about queue places in real-time, so patients can move about without being anxious or restricted to a waiting area.
Improving patient services, efficiency, and conserving energy by streamlining the charging electronic holders will allow the Sapporo Shirakaba-dai Hospital to save on costs as well as help will the ease of patient services. Fujitsu and Sapporo Shirakaba-dai Hospital have worked together to develop the clinical appointment guidance system starting with full operations in April 2011.
These easy to use IC-equipped registration cards work by insert with details of current visitors schedule, queue positioning and updates using message displays. With color e-paper for its display, hardly any power is used even when on, a single charge will last for one week, reducing power consumption and CO2 emissions.
