Which utilizes iOS 5 best, iPad makes it shine

By Updated on

Just over a week ago Steve Jobs shared with us the wonders of the new iOS from Apple. We offered details back then as to which devices will be supported, but we did not know then which utilizes iOS 5 best. Having now been able look at this again it seems that the iPad makes it shine. This was not surprising really, as we saw how much better Apple’s tablet was when iOS 4 was made available to it.

Last Monday we learned that mirroring would become a new feature for the iPad, so Daniel decided that this needed a closer look. There were a few issues here and there, but for the most part it was a very good feature. More on this can be read in our hands-on review of iOS mirroring for the iPad. However, there is so much more to iOS 5 than just that, and we still believe that the iPad will come out on top.

When the new mobile OS gets released in the fall iPad users will then be able to use iMessage, as well as improved browsing and notifications. If the Motorola Xoom and the BlackBerry PlayBook thought that they had it tough now, then things are going to get a whole lot tougher for them in the coming months.

With the iPad being a truly mobile device it always seemed a little stupid having to connect it to a computer and iTunes to set it up and update. This will be a thing of the past thanks to iCloud, one of the things that have been holding iOS devices back.

Both the smartphone and tablet market are getting tougher for Apple, but iOS 5 will go a long way in keeping the iPhone and iPad relevant, but the latter more so, as it utilizes newer technology.
