When Polish video game developer CD Projekt RED confirmed that they were indeed working on an Xbox 360 version of their popular third-person role-playing PC game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, PlayStation 3 owners were left wondering if they would be getting a version too.
It now looks as though they may be in luck, as according to Wesley Yin-Poole over at eurogamer.net, the developer has hinted that a PS3 version could well happen. However, they also suggested that they would not start making it until they have finished creating the Xbox 360 version.
Senior producer Tomasz Gop said that the Red engine is in fact capable of doing all three platforms: the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Although the studio is currently focused on the Xbox 360 version, Gop said that it doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t want to work on the PS3 later on down the line.
Gop went on to explain that the switch from PC to Xbox 360 is pretty straightforward, as they already have people on board that have previously worked on Xbox 360 games. However, he also stated that they are currently looking for a good PlayStation 3 developer, so the chance of a PS3 version is looking hopeful.
Are you hoping that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings game gets released for the PS3 as well?
