With a huge range of Android handsets on the market, it comes as no surprise that there are problems with Android apps and how they affect the battery. Maybe minimum requirements are needed, just like we have with computer software? This has to make perfect sense, as there are some smartphones on the market that have a fraction of the processing power or Ram as another model.
It is no secret that there are apps out there that drain the power from the battery faster than others, but we are unable to determine what apps these are. However, these are not the only issues, as there can be other issues as well – surely it is time for a change? An article on CNN has been discussing about how apps were reportedly to blame for a high number of Motorola handset returns running on Android.
If and when minimum requirements comes in remains a mystery, but there is another app on the market that could help in the meantime. Motoblur is able to gather performance data from a handset and then learn to see which app has been performing badly, although there could be an issue with privacy.
We have to wonder if we are jumping the gun a little here, as new and faster Android handsets are coming to the market at a fast rate of knots. Yes there are still a huge amount of older Android handsets about, but it will not be long before they go to the big cell phone maker in the sky.
