We are frantically trying to publish posts telling you what we recently found out during the recent Sony press conference at E3 2011, recently we told you that the PlayStation Vita was official, now we can tell you that Sony are launching a PlayStation branded 3DTV and glasses.
Full details can be seen via Sony’s press release which can be read over at Engadget, the screen features a 24-inch diagonal and supports both 1080p visuals and several 3D formats. The 3DTV has 2 x HDMI inputs, a 5000:1 contrast ratio and a 176-degree viewing angle. It also features edge-LED lighting and measures just 35mm at its thickest part.
For us its biggest claim to fame is a mode which allows two gamers to see unique full-screen images of gameplay when looking at this single 3DTV, this will make split screen gaming a thing of the past, this feature wowed us.
As for pricing and availability you will be able to pick up the 3DTV, a pair of PlayStation branded 3D glasses, a 6 foot HDMI cable and a copy of Resistance 3 for $499.99, extra glasses can be purchased separately for $69.99 per pair.The PlayStation 3DTV and 3D glasses will hit the global market sometime during the Fall 2011.
