There is so much to discuss from what we saw from WWDC 2011, but we were pretty impressed with OS X Lion and Apple’s new take on email. The current version is basic, but the update that you can download from the Mac App Store next month is a vast improvement. We will soon be able to see more of our message, and that is literally.
Once you install Lion onto your Mac you will be able to open up mail and then you will see your inbox on the right and then the displayed message on the right. Now forgive us if we are wrong, but this is a lot like what we used to have with Microsoft’s email. However, Apple goes much further and offers a host of other features.
Being able to have a compact preview is a good idea, as you can scan the email quickly and then decide if you need to delete the email in question. You also have an option where you can have a photo of those who have sent you a message – not for all emails if you know what we mean?
Search has also been improved, making it a much more powerful tool. This will now make it much easier when searching for a certain message that you just cannot find. There is also another feature called Conversations, which groups’ emails together, which are part of the same conversation. This can save a load of time when you need to need to carry on where you left off.
There are over 250 new features on OS X Lion, and the new email is just one of them.
