Along with the E3 2011 Wii U console announcement, Nintendo also unveiled an impressive list of titles that were coming to the new system. We have a list of those game for you now, letting you see just what is worth getting excited over.

If you missed our initial report on specs and release date information, then head to our previous report here. We’re just going to focus on the software lineup on the Wii U for the moment, then talk about some specific titles in detail later on this week.

Without further ado, below is a list of titles that have been confirmed for the Nintendo Wii U so far:

Super Smash Bros
Lego City Stories
Tekken
Assassin’s Creed
Darksiders 2
Batman Arkham Asylum
Ghost Recon Online
Dirt
Aliens Colonial Marines
Metro Last Light
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge

As you can see, the initial list of confirmed titles for the Wii U is very impressive, we wonder how many of these will actually end up becoming launch titles. As for the graphics, they are looking very slick indeed and definitely on par with what you see on the likes on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today. There was a huge cheer in the audience for Batman; Arkham Asylum and Ninja Gaiden 3, so there is already a lot of love for Nintendo’s new system it seems.

What are your thoughts on the lineup so far, are you impressed or not? Expect rolling coverage on the Wii U throughout this week. Don’t forget to stay peeled to our growing Facebook page for the latest updates.

UPDATE: We’ve added a video from IGN below, showing Nintendo’s lineup video. Remember to select HD for the best quality, enjoy!

UPDATE 2: In a surprising turn of events, Nintendo has confirmed that the footage of the Wii U lineup titles were actually shot using Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics, not visuals from their upcoming console. Expect more from us on that soon.

Glad to see Nintendo finally has a system to compete with the PS3 and 360, but not entirely sold on the Tablet Controller.  I hope they design another smaller controller for hardcore games too.. one with triggers perhaps.  I have a 3DS and touch play works well in some games.  I will definitely get this system for the novelty.

Well, the graphics look up to par with 360/PS3, as Nintendo have confirmed the trailers use either PS3/360 or PC footage ;).  But that aside, I think it’s awesome that Ninty-only gamers will now get a chance to play these great games and the many others that’ll be released in the coming years, welcome to the party guys :).  While I doubt that the Wii U will be able to stand toe-to-toe with whatever Microsoft and Sony have next, here’s hoping the Ninty fans can revel in some best-on-console graphics, animation, AI and lighting for at least a few years :).
