Now that we have had some time to look through the host of new products from Apple, we cannot help thinking that iOS 5 has assimilated it rivals by copying a few of their features. We are not saying that Apple has done anything wrong, but when a company as big as they are assimilates the likes of Android, BlackBerry and webOS, you have to wonder what is going on and if they lack innovation?
Phones Review believes that Apple are “Copycats” and were not that impressed with the updates that are coming to iOS 5. It seems as though they are not looking at the big picture. Now the iPhone was not the first handset to have a touchscreen, but they used this technology and made it the best on the market. We just hope that Apple do the same with all these features in their upcoming mobile OS.
Even before the WWDC event we learned of a new notifications feature, and this turned out to be true. Yes, we agree that when you see it in action it is a lot like what Android has, but how many features has Android borrowed over the years? No matter who you are all companies borrow tech from each other, what about the digital camera, they are on all smartphones, but the likes of Apple, HTC, Motorola, Samsung etc did not develop it and were not the first to use it in a handset.
So apart from New Notifications what else has Apple assimilated? OTA updates have been used by Android and webOS from the start. iMessage is a lot like BlackBerry Messenger, but improves on it to give the user a much better experience. OK, so we know that there are a few features that are the same as Android, BlackBerry and webOS, but its all part of the game right?
Has Apple assimilated its rivals with iOS 5?
