iPad iOS 5 to release with AirPlay Mirroring: games to HDTV

By Updated on

iPad owners will be pleased with a new feature that is coming with the iOS 5 release called AirPlay Mirroring. This means that you will not only be able to play games on your HDTV, but also view your entire tablet device on your TV. This will work just how it does when using your iPad to view your movies via Apple TV.

There is a way to do this at the moment, but it means that you have to use a connector; all this is done through the air. Apple is calling this and other such features “PC Free.” At the time Apple did not offer many details, but they have now updated their website with additional information.

Not only can you use this feature at home, but also at work on a secure network. Whatever you have on your iPad can be streamed to your TV, although you will still need Apple TV to do this. This is not that big of a deal, considering that the cost of the device is just $99. Just think how cool it will be to be able to view your photos, videos or even play some of your apps on a larger screen. Although we are a little worried how they will look in a much larger ratio?

We have to wonder if there will be any sort of delay while using the new AirPlay Mirroring for iPad 2 feature? We have been in a number of places where they have a lag with their Wi-Fi; this could certainly affect how responsive it will be. Which iOS 5 features grabbed you the most?
