Last weekend we saw a number of Apple rumors break over a couple of days, and it would not be the first time we’ve heard about the new iOS 5 including a much improved notification system, and today it seems even more certain that this feature will be dramatically improved in the next software update.
Whether we see a new iPhone 5 at WWDC 2011, within 48-hours, or not may not be that important once we find out all the features in store for iOS 5 and what Apple has planned for their software backbone. We expect massive changes this year when it comes to how Apple’s platforms connect with each other, from iOS 5, iCloud and Mac OS X Lion. Feel free to share your wishes in the comments.
Today we hear that a programmer has been hired by Apple to work on the iPhone platform, and what makes this programmer special is the fact that he created an app for jailbreak versions of the iPhone that did improve notifications. The app was called ‘MobileNotifier’, and showed Apple how the iPhone notification system should’ve been.
Yesterday Apple Insider confirmed the programmer had a job now with Apple, which will certainly help improve future iOS updates so that notifications are done right. You may have used his app yourself, as we can confirm around 250,000 people have downloaded MobileNotifier via Cydia for their iPhone jailbreak.
When Apple show iOS 5 on Monday, what do you expect from the new notification system?
