As you may have already noticed by now Google has launched its +1 button for websites. We previously brought you news of the trial run of the link sharing button and today it officially went live. The new feature marks Google’s rising competitiveness against sharing on Facebook.
Much like the ‘Like’ button which Facebook has had so much success with or the ‘Share’ button, +1 allows users to mark interesting content so that their contacts can see when searching on Google. You must of course be signed in to your account in order to use it.
Sites like YouTube, Android Market and other third party websites as well as Google’s Product Search has begun rolling out the button today and soon wherever you see a ‘Share’ or Facebook ‘Like’ button there will be a +1 button.
Google’s attempts at raising their social network aspects of their site have been somewhat of a failure so far, but with this new button they could find a lot of success especially if it kicks off like the ‘Like’ button did.
Check out the link above to learn how to include the +1 button into your website. What are your first impressions of the Google +1 button so far?
