O2 UK has recently announced that as from tomorrow you will be able to top-up you Pay & Go phone via the company’s official Facebook page, this is said to work in exactly the same way that you are used to topping up on the O2 website.
Currently a lot of O2 customers head over to o2.co.uk/topup to top-up their phones, however tomorrow O2 will launch a new Facebook app which will appear on its official Facebook page to allow this functionality.
If this functionality is something you will be using perhaps considering ‘Liking’ the official O2 Facebook page via this link (almost 250k people have already), O2 believe that is a first for a major mobile network, we think that other carriers will follow suit in the future.
Apparently when carrying out the process you will be prompted to switch to secure browsing, this is good news as Facebook’s security credentials quite often come under scrutiny and may have put people off entering their credit / debit card details which are necessary to complete the process.
O2 seem keen to adapt their social networking strategy and say that they will be listening to your feedback to assist them with future innovations, you can find out more about topping-up via Facebook over at the O2 Blog.
Will you use this service?
