If you live in the United States and you’re thinking about treating yourself to a new Android handset, then we have some information that could well be of interest to you. Pantech has just unveiled the Crossover, a brand new Android smartphone that’s coming to AT&T on June 5th.
As Chris Burns over at slashgear.com recently reported, the Pantech Crossover is a mid-range smartphone, with an emphasis on the use of social media and messaging. The handset comes with a 600MHz processor, a full side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 3.1-inch touch-screen display.
The Crossover runs Android 2.2 OS and comes with a 1500mAh battery, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), voice recognition, a micro USB jack for power and data transfer, an accelerometer, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera with fixed focus and a 4 x zoom.
It also features a microSD card slot that comes with a 2GB card pre-installed, with support for cards up to 32GB. Those that love sports will be pleased to know that the Crossover comes pre-loaded with AllSport GPS application, which offers maps, a calorie counter and even workout tracking.
