Call of Duty Elite: Release date info and beta sign-ups on Xbox 360, PS3, PC

By Updated on

Activision has finally confirmed Call of Duty Elite, after the subscription based service was leaked earlier on today. We now have release details for when you’ll be able to use the service, but perhaps more importantly – Activision has also confirmed that a public beta will take place during the Summer.

If you missed the official video trailer for Call of Duty Elite earlier, make sure you watch it again here. It explains how the service works in detail, although everyone is still waiting to see what exactly gamers will have to pay for, and what aspects of COD Elite will be free to play.

We told you earlier that the service is likely to come in under $7.99 a month per subscription, but this deal may be a sweetener for you as we’ve learned that this price will include new multiplayer maps and other DLC content. Meanwhile players who don’t have a subscription will still be able to buy the DLC as normal, according to this feature on the new service over at VG247.

As for release details, it’s meant to be releasing at the end of the year, but a public beta will start this Summer. However, you can already sign up to participate in the beta on either the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC right now. Simply head to the website here, input your email address and details and wait for Activision to contact you.

Expect more details on Call of Duty Elite to land at E3 from Microsoft’s E3 keynote, which we just gave you details on here. Good luck if you’ve entered the beta, let us know your impressions of the subscription service so far. Interested or not?
