The latest news on the Droid Bionic in relation to the recent benchmark tests for the elusive handset only served as a major tease for those still hoping to get one this Summer. However, we still don’t know when the official release date is – so is the demand still as high as when the handset was first announced?
Over the last few years, there has been a slightly annoying trend for promising Verizon handsets which get announced, and then we fail to hear anything of them for months, leaving consumers in a state of bewilderment over a lack of communication on Verizon’s part.
It happened with the HTC Incredible and Thunderbolt, and you can definitely argue the same cause with the Droid Bionic. Equipped with a dual-core processor, the latest version of Android Gingerbread and more importantly, Verizon 4G LTE support, it’s the one handset that consumers can’t wait to get their hands on, but a lack of official word from Verizon on when the phone will release may have put a lot of consumers off.
With the Apple iPhone now on Verizon’s books, it’s highly likely that the iPhone 5, thought to be arriving in September will also make an appearance on Big Red. If this happens, then consumers will be faced with an almighty decision on which handset to pick up. This could be even more significant after Apple’s WWDC 2011 conference in June, as we could get official word on the iPhone 5, which may tempt you away from the Droid Bionic.
If you are currently mulling over the decision to pick up a Droid Bionic or iPhone 5, let us know your thoughts on this. Has the lack of communication from Verizon put you off the Droid Bionic, or will you still buy one regardless. We’ve set up a poll below so we can gather some feedback on your choices.
