We have some interesting news now for those of you that are perhaps thinking of upgrading your current digital camera, as we’ve just heard that Leica has recently announced the new V-LUX 30 compact camera and we have the price, specs and release info right here for you.
As Donald Melanson over at Engadget reports, the Leica V-LUX 30 – the follow up to last year’s V-LUX 20 model – is priced up at $749, making this one of the company’s more affordable models. So what exactly do you get for $749 I hear you ask? Well for starters it comes with a 15.1-megapixel sensor.
The Leica V-LUX 30 also comes with a high performance lens with a 16x optical zoom, a 3-inch LCD touch screen display, a new 3D mode and built in GPS capabilities for geotagging. This model also features a 1080i AVCHD- full HD video recording format, with the 16x zoom available during video recording.
According to Donald, the video recording mode delivers a performance that is comparable to that of a digital camcorder. The Leica V-LUX 30 also comes with a built-in stereo microphone with an electronic noise filter, which guarantees to provide a crystal clear soundtrack.
Meanwhile, the integrated GPS feature makes both organizing and archiving your photographs quick and easy. If users choose to post their images on social networks such as Facebook, image portals or map sites such as Google Maps, the data will automatically reveal when and where the image was taken.
The Leica V-LUX 30 will be available as from sometime in June. Are you considering buying a new digital camera? If so, would you purchase the Leica V-LUX 30 model?
