We have some important news for those of you who are searching for a new smartphone this year, particularly if you consider yourself to be a Nokia fan at heart. As you may remember, Nokia and Microsoft has a deal in place in which Nokia will build Windows Phone 7 smartphones, and now Nokia has given users an update on progress.
Shortly after Microsoft confirmed details of their incoming ‘Mango’ update for current Windows Phone 7 devices, Nokia has recently come out and stated that their first Windows Phone 7 devices will all be running the Mango update as default, as reported from Engadget.
This is obviously great news, as the Mango update brings much more functionality to the Windows Phone 7 software, such as the Internet Explorer 9 browser, HTML 5 support, Twitter integration, Multitasking between apps, conversation threads for Facebook, MSN and Twitter usage and much more.
However, it’s now 2011 and most of you have seemingly forgotten about Nokia. Do you still have a soft spot for the company that brought us classic phones as the 3250 and the Nokia NGage, or do you feel that they can’t compete with the likes of HTC, Samsung, BlackBerry and Apple, even if they have joined forces with the mighty Microsoft.
Are you willing to give one of their new Windows Phone 7.1 devices a chance, or are you simply going to ignore their phones in favor of something else on the market?
