Sony PSP firmware update hints imminent PSS restoration

By Updated on

For those that have been suffering with the major network issues that the Sony PlayStation 3 has had over the past month, you are most probably rejoicing at the fact you can now get back to business doing your thing online. However if you’ve been waiting to use the PlayStation Store you will find that it is yet to be restored.

Today’s news suggests that this situation may be about to change anytime soon as a PSP firmware update is being readied for release. This update is reportedly the PSP version of the similar update that the PS3 received when the PSN first went back up.

Once uploaded the update will bring the PSPs to version 6.3.9. Though nothing specific about the update has been reported yet PSBLog notes that use of some features and system software stability are amongst some of things that will be improved with the update. The main task is the password changing process that PS3 users had to go through.

You can check out the PSBlog for yourself by clicking the link above where you should be kept up to date as to when the update will be available.

When do you think the PlayStation Store will be up again?
