If you’re a fan of Sony Ericsson phones and happen to own an XPERIA Arc or Play, then you’re going to be pleased with the news we have for you today. It seems as of next week these devices will be running an updated version of Android 2.3.3 and will get Facebook integration.
The firmware update will take care of security problems users have been experiencing and have more interaction with Facebook than previous, such as uploading photos and ‘Liking’ music. The most interesting thing about the new integrated Facebook features that the phones will have is they can be turned off.
So if you’re not a big fan of Facebook activities being updated automatically into your feed then simply opt out by hitting the off button. Calum MacDougall, Head of Web Service Partnerships at Sony Ericsson was keen to dismiss the idea that the phones would be transformed into Facebook phones, and stated the update is for ‘enriching the experience.’
Things like calendar syncing will also be included from the Facebook features. You can check out the article at Recombu for more details about the Android 2.3.3 update and what other Facebook features will be included.
Are you impressed with the update?
