We’ve just heard about an app that’s just hit the App Store called SpotWorld, which is described as a new social travel guide for iOS users.
As recently noted over on the appdebate.com website, the SpotWorld – The Global Social Travel Guide application incorporates location-based technology and society’s need for social connection, to provide users with a brand new take on the classic travel guide concept.
SpotWorld not only enables users to discover and learn about the world’s best travel spots, but it also allows them to interact with media about them. The app allows its users to browse through community-generated itineraries of the best spots in numerous destinations across the world.
The SpotWorld app – which requires iOS 3.0 or above – features multimedia for more than 500,000 global locations and places of interest, including zoos, amusement parks, attractions, museums, local landmarks, restaurants, shopping districts and even famous city streets.
In addition to being able to discover and learn about places across the world, the SpotWorld app will also enable you to discover and interact with spots near you. Users will have the ability to add tips, ratings and photos, while checking-in to nearby places to earn points in the location-based travel game.
