Starhawk Dev Talks Competition Before PS3 Release Date

By Tina Chubb - May 15, 2011

After months of rumors and speculation as to its existence, Sony finally decided to make the Starhawk game – the sequel to 2007’s Warhawk – official recently. Not only were fans treated to a few more details about the much-anticipated game, but they also got to watch a pretty impressive trailer.

As Tom Hopkins over at nowgamer.com notes, Harvard Bonin – the Starhawk game’s senior producer – sat an interview recently, in which the developer spoke about the game’s competition. One interesting question asked was how Starhawk would compete with the likes of the upcoming Call of Duty games.

Bonin responded by saying that they would be silly to think that they could compete with a great game such as Call of Duty. He then went on to explain that there are a lot of other good games out there, so for them it’s a case of taking on any game in any genre.

In Bonin’s opinion, the Starhawk game – which will release exclusively for the PlayStation 3 – is also competing against movies and time with children, as well as other things that players can spend their time and money on. Do you like the sound of the new game? If so, will you be buying it?
