We first brought you details about a Mortal Kombat Kollection back in September last year, when a listing for the then unannounced game appeared on a listing from US retailer GameStop. A few days later, the box art for the PS3 versions was supposedly leaked by a French website.
Well we can now tell you that the much-rumored Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection has now been made official. According to a recent el33tonline.com by Oliver, the Kollection will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC as a downloadable game sometime in late summer.
The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will come with what’s been described as ‘arcade-perfect’ ports of the original versions of the Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 games. The package will cost 800 MS Points via XBLA and $9.99 via PSN.
Ed Boon – the Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios – said that they are very excited to have the first 3 MK titles in one download package for both old and new fans to play. The Kollection gives gamers the opportunity to play through the said games in their original arcade state.
The Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection is also promising online play, trophies, achievements and leaderboards. Are you a fan of the Mortal Kombat games?
