Fujitsu Lifebook TH40/D: Tablet to Netbook slider

By Updated on

The many tablets of 2011 are still multiplying and by now you’re think they’re all the same and you’ve seen it all think again, as today we have news of a new tablet that has a little something extra with it. The Fujitsu Lifebook TH40/D at first may look like a typical tablet only to reveal a keyboard which slides out from underneath.

You may also already be thinking there is a fine line between a netbook, slate and the tablets that get released on the market today. If that’s the case, that line has just been blurred. The keyboard actually acts as a stand holding the screen in a comfortable viewing position.

The 10.1” device’s keyboard has been nicknamed the ‘touch-type keyboard’ by the manufacturers although it is not actually a touch-screen judging from the photos. The Lifebook weighs 1.1kg and is just 17.4mm thick.

Overall little is known about the new tablet so far, so we will just have to keep our ears and eyes open for more on specs, price and release date. According to the article at the official Fujitsu website the TH40 is compatible with Blu-ray which suggests USB ports for the external Blu-ray drive.
