HTC Sensation UK sim free price and release date revealed

We recently compared the screen on the HTC Sensation with the Samsung Galaxy S2, as the two Android heavyweights do battle to see which one is the best new Android smartphone. Today we can tell you that the HTC Sensation UK sim free price and release date has been revealed.

Earlier this month we told you that Vodafone had begun taking preorders for the device on a monthly contract, costing £35 per month for two years. But now we have news for those of you who would like the handset on a sim free basis. The handset has gone up for sale on Play.com for £499.99, according to an article on TechRadar by Kate Solomon.

The handset has gone on the site with a June 30th shipping date, which is later than was reported on the Vodafone preorder page. This could just mean that the unlocked version of the handset coming later than the contract only version.

For now no other retailer has decided to list the handset as well, but this will surely change in the coming days. Just to recap the handset is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It also has a 4.3-inch qHD Super-LCD display.

    The product has been available for pre order on the Handtec site for over a week and they have the release date as 8th June.

    So did Play.com get it wrong? They seem to have pulled the pre order offer.

    The Sensation looks an awesome bit of kit but when will HTC wake up and fit a battery big enough to accomodate a full day's use. Galaxy SII for me this time.
