Back in February we provided our UK readers with a release date for the much-anticipated Facebook phones, the HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha. Although we notified them that both the handsets were available to pre-order, we unfortunately had now idea of a price.
However, according to a recent article by Carly Page at dialtosave.co.uk, Amazon UK has now revealed a UK price for both handsets, which are both available to pre-order from their website. The previous release date we gave you was June 17th, but Amazon appear to have it down as June 26th.
According to the retailer, the HTC ChaCha is priced up at £249.99, while the HTC Salsa is marked up at £319.99. Both phones – which were first introduced at this year’s Mobile World Congress – come equipped with a number of Facebook features, including a Facebook-integrated phone book.
Although the ChaCha and the Salsa are similar in terms of software, they are completely different in terms of the hardware. The HTC ChaCha phone comes with a 2.6-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 480 x 320, a 600MHz processor and a full QWERTY keyboard.
It also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 2.3 OS. The HTC Salsa on the other hand features a full 3.4-inch touch screen, a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi speeds. The ChaCha will be available on subsidized deals with Vodafone, Three, Orange and T-Mobile.
