Here is some interesting news for all the tech geeks out there and although it may come as a surprise for most of you this news won’t be. According to the latest results in the BrandZ survey, Apple is the world’s most valuable consumer brand, leading the results in 2011.

For the last four years the leader had been Google, but according to a report at Bloomberg today, this year Apple has taken the lead. The company is estimated to be worth an astonishing $153.3 billion.

That sum puts them ahead of a pack consisting of other big name brands such as Disney, McDonalds and Coca-Cola, names that have existed forever it seems. The survey also revealed high climbs in value with other brands such as Facebook which grew 246% estimated to now be worth $19.1.

Other revelations saw Amazon become the world’s most valuable retailer worth $37.6 billion and also showed some downfalls including Apple rivals BlackBerry and Nokia whose values dropped 20% and 28% respectively.
