The newly released BlackBerry PlayBook may have a few good things going for it such as true multi-tasking, a good browser and secure e-mail, but it’s unfortunately lacking in apps. However, that doesn’t mean that there are not any decent apps to download.
In fact, John Brandon at techradar.com has recently provided a list of what he believes is the top 10 best free apps to download for the BlackBerry PlayBook. The number one BlackBerry PlayBook application in John’s eyes is the Adobe Connect Mobile app.
As long as the user already uses the Adobe Connect Service, the app enables them to set up a web conference and tap into the room with the BlackBerry PlayBook. It also enables users to share their video from the tablet’s built-in front-facing camera.
Another great app on the list is Slacker Radio, which John describes as a bit like the Pandora application, but with more attitude. Once users have selected a station from the genre of their choice, they can start streaming the best and most recent tracks on their device.
The Need for Speed: Undercover application also made it onto the list. Electronic Arts optimized this specific version of the racing game for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Just like with the iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom versions, players tilt the device to steer the vehicles.
