Brammo Encite and Engage: Electric motorcycles for tough terrain

By Chris Cook - May 4, 2011

If you are interested in investing in a new vehicle and prefer the two wheeled variety now the weather is warming up, maybe you can consider a Brammo motorcycle. The company has just announced two new models, the Encite and the Engage.

Both the models are electric and feature the direct-drive systems that can be found in previous electric motorcycles that Brammo has produced like the Empulse which we brought to your attention last year.

The Engage MMX Pro is a racing motorcycle that as of yet lacks a price whereas the Encite comes in two versions, supermoto meant for roads and motorcross which is designed for offroad, and both cost from $9,995.

Although no specifications have been released yet Brammo promises that both bikes have high speed and improved acceleration. They also have high RPM range, torque and a six-speed gearbox. More details can be found in the article by Tim Stevens over at Engadget.
