Birds of North America Apps on John James Audubon birthday

By Updated on

Today we thought we would take a closer look at a few birds of North America apps, as it is John James Audubon birthday, which you will know due to the Google Doodle on the search engine’s homepage. For those who do not know, James not only painted but also described and catalogued these birds in a way that had never been done before.

Back then it was a much harder task to catalogue these birds, and took up a huge amount of the French-American ornithologists time. Things are now much easier, as these images can be taken and uploaded in no time at all. What makes things even better for us is how you can view them with ease on your iPhone with some amazing apps.

The first app that we have found is called ‘Birds of North America’ and comes packed with more than 630 images – all in high-resolution. There is a small charge of $0.99, but for that you not only get all those images, but also detailed information on each bird. You do not need to be connected to the Internet to use the app.

The next app is ‘Peterson Birds of North America’ and costs $14.99, and that’s with a 50 percent saving. We are told that this is a must-have app for any nature lover. The list of features is extensive, such as pan and zoom to a customizable interface.

These are just apps, but there are many more that you can see on App Shopper.
