Kinect Sports: New ‘Calorie Challenge’ Mode Announced

By Tina Chubb - Apr 20, 2011

We have some pretty exciting news now for those of you that own an Xbox 360, the Kinect device and a copy of Kinect Sports, as we’ve just heard that the game is due to receive a brand new – and rather intriguing – mode called ‘Calorie Challenge’ via upcoming DLC.

According to an article over at escapistmagazine.com by John Funk, the latest DLC is all about achieving weight-loss goals. The ‘Calorie Challenge’ mode will see players facing off against a few different food items, or should I say more along the lines of people dressed up as food.

They will then participate in a number of events that are aimed at burning as many calories as a serving of that particular food item contains. For example, going head-to-head with a Chocolate Challenger requires a 416-calorie workout, while Steady Celery requires just 25.

There are a total of six Calorie Challengers all in all including Blazing Banana (92 calories), Supersonic Soda (133 calories), Mighty Milk (198 calories) and Peppy Pizza (302 calories). The ‘Calorie Challenger’ DLC is out on Xbox Live at the end of April, and can be purchased for 320 Microsoft Points.
