We recently told you about owners of the HTC Desire would be getting the Android Gingerbread update in May. Today we can report that the Vodafone Android update for the Samsung Galaxy S is now live.
Gareth Beavis over at TechRadar is reporting that users in the UK can now get the update for their handsets, but for now it is only Vodafone who have begun pushing out the update for its Galaxy S owners in the UK. Other carriers in the rest of Europe have also started rolling out the Android update, so it can only be a matter of time before other networks in the UK do the same.
The Gingerbread update will fix some of the handsets performance issues, as well as adding some nice new features. The UI will be quicker and easier to use, and a new Android Keyboard which has an easy copy and paste feature.
Users will also have the ability to switch the handset to GSM only mode, and there will be Multiple Camera Management. Many users will also be glad of the improved battery life, which is good no matter what handset you own. To get the update you will have to connect you Galaxy S to your PC and open up the Samsung KIES application.
