Great news now for those of you that play the Bug Heroes game – which combines tower defense with dual-stick shooting – on their iOS devices, as the app has just been updated to version 2.0. Not only does the update provide a whole host of new features, but it also contains several bug fixes.
However, as Jared Nelson over at toucharcade.com recently noted, the main feature in the latest update is the welcome addition of 6 new playable characters, which are downloadable via IAP. These include a Ladybug Fencer, a Grasshopper Monk, a Stick Bug Wizard and a Fly Bandit.
Each of these new playable characters features their own unique style, abilities and equipment, which offer players new ways of playing through the Bug Heroes game. The six brand new characters are available to purchase in three different in-app purchase ‘Hero Packs,” which each cost $0.99.
All packs come with two playable characters, one new level, one new turret and 6 brand new enemies for the extra level. There is also free content for those that don’t really want to buy anything, such as piercing bullets for the ant, a boomsticks weapon for the beetle and a Picnic level for the Coliseum.
As noted over on the itunes.apple.com website, the 2.0 update has also fixed several crashes that occurred during the game, fixed a crash that occurred when players tried submitting their score, added power-ups to the Sink Arena and added more color and objects to the Playroom level.
