PowerUp Heroes: New Xbox 360 Kinect Game Announced

By Tina Chubb - Apr 13, 2011

There have been some pretty awesome titles released for the Xbox 360 Kinect since it first launched back in 2010, but I don’t think any sound as exciting as Ubisoft’s recently announced PowerUp Heroes, which is due to be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 sometime this June.

According to James Orry over at videogamer.com, PowerUp Heroes is a full-body combat game, which enables players to transform their Xbox 360 avatars into custom superheroes. Players control the moves by using their whole body to dodge strikes, counter attacks and launch projectiles.

Each player’s avatar becomes a custom playable superhero, by donning a special super suit that comes complete with special abilities and deadly powers. Once a player has destroyed an enemy in battle, their fallen foe is stripped of their suit and their power is passed to the winner.

There are a total of 20 super suits for players to collect including the Mentalist suit, which gives players the ability to enter into the mind of their enemy and the Necromancer suit, which enables players to control a group of skeletons. PowerUp Heroes features several different game modes.

These include 2-player online battles, four player tournaments and local 2-player versus. We’ve also embedded the announcement trailer below this post, just so you can see what the game is like for yourself. Do you like the sound of the PowerUp Heroes game?
