Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta: Epic Expects 1 Million Players

It looks like Epic Games has high hopes for the much-anticipated Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta that’s due to be launched later this month. The developer recently announced that they are expecting around 1 million Xbox 360 players to participate in the upcoming beta.

As we previously mentioned, those who have pre-order the Gears of War 3 game from either GAME or Gamestation stores will gain access to the multiplayer beta on April 25th, while those who purchased the Bulletstorm Epic Edition will be able to access it on April 18th.

According to Andy Robinson at computerandvideogames.com, executive producer Rod Fergusson said that although the beta will be widely available to Xbox 360 gamers, Epic is not trying to set a new record in regards to the amount of players participating in the forthcoming tryout.

Fergusson said that although he didn’t know if the developer necessarily had a target, their expectations are around the one million mark. The aim he said is to get as much data as they possibly can to help them make any necessary changes in order to deliver the best game.

As many of you will already be aware, the upcoming multiplayer beta will include three new game modes and four different maps. Are you one of the many that will be joining in the multiplayer beta when it kicks off later this month?
