We have some very interesting news to bring you now, especially for Android users. Google has just updated their homepage with an ‘Ice Cream Sundae’ doodle, but is it just to celebrate the anniversary of the tasty dessert, or is it a hidden message about Android 4.0 OS?
For those of you that don’t know, it had been rumored months ago that Google were planning to name Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream’, and it would be the next version after Android 3.0 Honeycomb. We first told you about this back in October 2010, when it had been reported that ARM president Tudor Brown had named Google’s next Android update, Ice Cream – sending the tech world crazy for a few days.
In perhaps the biggest hint about Ice Cream yet, we even had Google’s Eric Schmidt confirm at MWC 2011 that the next version of Android will start with an I – which doesn’t take a genius to work out that this is obviously Ice Cream that he’s referring to. With this information now refreshed in your mind, take a look at Google’s Doodle and then say it doesn’t mean anything.
Of course it is the ’119th anniversary of the invention’ of the Ice Cream Sundae, but we have a feeling that Google couldn’t resist throwing in a teaser about their next Android OS at the same time – and it falls on a Sunday too – how ironic.
What are your thoughts on this one guys?
