Mafia II: Developer Confirms Special Editions

By Updated on

There have been a few rumors surfacing online recently, which have suggested that 2K Games were planning on releasing a special Director’s Cut edition of the hugely popular Mafia II game. Well now it appears that the rumors have just been confirmed.

According to a recent article by Fred Dutton at eurogamer.net, 2K Games has repackaged the popular third-person action-adventure game to include all the previously released DLC. This of course is ideal for those of you that have not yet purchased the Mafia II game.

The special edition – which has been tagged as Mafia II: Platinum Hits on the Xbox 360, Mafia II Greatest Hits on PlayStation 3 and Mafia II: Director’s Cut on the PC – will not only include the bare-bones game, but also the three previously released expansions packs.

These of course include Joe’s Adventures, The Betrayal of Jimmy and the Jimmy’s Vendetta expansion packs. The pack will also include four style packs: War Hero, Greaser, Vegas and Renegade, which all come with two suits and two cars for use within the game.

Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are said to be available to purchase now from select retailers. Additional vendors worldwide will then sell the game throughout April. The PC version on the other hand is due to release in the coming months.

Although we haven’t got a confirmed European price as of yet, we do know that that RRP in the US is just $29.99. Do you already own a copy of the Mafia II game and all the DLC? If you don’t, would you consider buying any of the special editions?
