If you enjoyed playing the classic Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out game when it was first released onto the Nintendo Entertainment System way back in 1987, then I’m pretty sure you’ll love the recently released Mike Tyson Main Event game for Apple iOS devices.
As Adam Ostrow at mashable.com recently noted, those who are familiar with the Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out game will definitely see a few similarities in the new game. For example, the animation, gameplay and characters are all said to look a lot like those of the original NES title.
The Mike Tyson Main Event game – which is developed by RockLive – sees players fighting their way through a series of challenging opponents in various different boxing rings, in order to finally face off against the man himself, Mike Tyson.
Players can throw punches by tapping the ‘R’ and ‘L’ icons on their iPod Touch or iPhone’s screen. There is also a directional touchpad, which enables users to move around and dodge their opponent’s punches. Dodging punches also rebuilds a player’s stamina.
If a player gets knocked down, they will see stars spiraling around them. If they then tap enough of them, they will get back up before the 10 count. However, the more you get knocked down the harder it will be to do this. Have you downloaded the Mike Tyson Main Event game yet?
