Attention all HTC Thunderbolt owners now, as we have some important information with regards to the highly anticipated Android 2.3 Gingerbread update release date for the handset. The good news, is that it could be released in a matter of months, and not the end of the year as some of you may have been fearing.
Best of all, this information has come from a HTC representative when responding to a user email, so we can already say that this information is pretty much official. According to the rep, the Gingerbread update for the Thunderbolt will be out Q2 of 2011, which means that it will release sometime in the next three months – not long to go at all!
Furthermore, the email also revealed a list of new features that will be coming in the HTC Thunderbolt Gingerbread update, with the highlight being NFC support. You can read the full email over at Droid-Life if you want to see it. Other new features include internet calling, gaming enhancements, UI improvements, downloads management, performance and speed enhancements and much more.
It’s unusual for all of this juicy information to come via a HTC email, but we’re definitely not complaining. Check out the complete list of Gingerbread update notes over at Droid-Life.
