Asphalt 3D Review (Nintendo 3DS), IGN Call if Awful

By Updated on

Asphalt 3D is one of the many new titles out on the 3DS and IGN reviewed it recently with more than disappointing remarks. The overall score rounded up to a shoddy 3/10 which is quite peculiar and really quite low, we can tell you why they gave it this mark and labelled the game “Awful”.

They first comment on the very poor presentation saying that it had bad rendering problems during the opening title movie, as for the graphics, these were hammered for having framerate issues. The overall impression was that the game would have looked good on an iPhone however, poor and weak on the 3DS.

The sound was among the many factors being persecuted for lacking realism, with the engine constantly shifting up through the gears without stopping, making it seem like the cars had an infinite number of gears, IGN also claim that the game will have no lasting appeal (are you surprised, considering what you’ve heard already). You can read their full review here.

It is certainly a shock to see a game being scored so low by an independent reviewer, some would say the reviewer might have been offended by the quality of the game to give it such a score, perhaps developers should have delayed the release and ensured that the overall experience was much better.

Have you played Asphalt 3D? What would you score it out of 10?
