A while back we confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was being developed for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, now we can confirm that more news has been revealed by THQ regarding game’s release date.
News reported by Gamespot says that the next third-person shooter under the Warhammer title will be coming some time this August, no official day has been set by THQ. We are sure that fans will be happy to hear a definite release month and won’t mind waiting a little longer for a specific date, let’s just hope developers keep to schedule.
This will be the first Warhammer 40,000 game that comes to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, as previous versions were released for the PC and past-gen consoles, it will be interesting to see how the game looks and plays on current-gen consoles.
Accoridng to Wikipedia the game’s campaign will see the player take control of a Space Marine called Captain Titus, Titus is humanity’s last hope for survival and must use “hybrid shooting” and melee combat to fight “the Warboss”, throughout the game you will earn upgrades and be able to customize the marine.
It will be interesting to see how the game’s developers will utilize Xbox Live and PSN to their advantage, we think that the game’s multiplayer elements and future DLC are key, how about you?
